Just rent it and give it a try. It's more like Devil May Cry if you ask me.

I hated DW and I love NGII. And it isn't a button masher (unless you want to die. A LOT.). If you like DMC IV, then you'll probably like it, though it has a block (thank god for that) and is much more fast paced.
