| Possible downtime I'm currently debating with myself regarding the purchase of vB SEO, which may very well bring Halo Nation more traffic by means of search engines. However, first the server needs some additional software before it can even be a candidate for the software. The site may be offline anywhere over the next 24 hours as I install new software to the server. I also need to install a few IIS security updates, so the server may be rebooted. Just a heads up, so don't yell at me when your Arcade score submission gets lost.
I'll try to perform this when no one is online, so some time during the evening. |

| Re: Possible downtime Trust me, people like Vizard or Rioter, they can find reasons to complain over anything. I do pay for things out of pocket at the moment, so it does add up.
I'm balancing this as a hobby/fun project and deciding accordingly how much I'm willing to invest into it. At the same time, I may decide to place Google Adsense on the site for unregistered users, minimum impact of registered users who hate ads. I'm also thinking about launching a Premium usergroup for donators. For a modest donation, Premium members could have certain perks that they don't already have. But we'll see how it can be marketed & balanced financially.
But rest assured, any major changes will most likely occur after Halo 3 launch. |

It seems kinda a small site a.t.m. for methods such as donations. |

| Re: Possible downtime We'll see how things go. Things like the link to service records will probably be kept available to all members regardless of their status. There are other perks I'm thinking of, but we'll see how things go. 39 members, not too bad. But hopefully things will pick up more past Halo 3 launch when people return from their internet blackout.
The server has been updated, both with software & a Microsoft patch. Actual web service loss should only have been around seconds since no physical reboot was required, just a few services restarted. |
