Xbox Nation Celebrates 1st Anniversary
This game's achievements make it seem like hell...
Dear Xbox Nation,
September 11th, 2008 marked the seventh anniversary of the terrorist attacks that occured in New York, Virginia and Pennsylvania. We remember those who lost their lives in the worst show of human nature to date. September 11th was also another anniversary, it marked the first birthday for Xbox Nation. We first opened our doors one year ago as Halo Nation. We've obviously gone through some changes, but I'm glad to see the familiar faces who still find the time to visit and post their opinions to our haphazard collection of threads.
In our first year, we've been through a great deal. We saw the launch of Halo 3, the independence of Bungie, the rise of Wii sales in the next-gen race, the ever-increasing use of gamerscore to drive game longevity, the announcement of Gears of War 2 and the launch of many great games. As the Halo fans began to fade, we evolved into the Xbox Nation to expand our horizons and continue to give witty commentary to all the great games we play.
Our YouTube channel has 130 subscribed users with our top video having been viewed over 60,000 time. Even the loss of a month's worth of data was not enough to slow us down, we have continued and pushed past it to create better reviews and even more posts than before.
The original welcome page for HaloNation.net that launched on September 11th, 2007.
I started Halo Nation as a fan community, a small hobby. I think that it still remains that today. We are a fan community that reaches across Halo and the entire console itself. And while this website (and indeed gaming in general) is still a hobby for most, it is an extension of our social network. So to all the members, I say thank you for your support. Its the people who make a website, and we've made a great one. World domination :)
