Major Nelson showcases a few new features to be launched with the Xbox Dashboard Update this fall. XBL users will be able to create and customize their own avatars, or they can choose to use their existing gamer pictures instead. Let's hope that Microsoft doesn't make avatars too child-like, we didn't pay for a Wii!

the avatar idea is pretty cool i think. only thing is that they took it from the wii, cept the wiimiis are anime like...i think theyre called wiimii's or something like that.

But I like my old Avatar I was looking forawd to getting a Kingdom Hearts 3 avatar.

? You can still use your original gamer picture, avatars are just an option.

im using the avatars. I think theyre cool and if you sound like a rapist on xbox live you can make yourself a rapist! Or show your avatar as someone not creepy. With the gamerpics it doesnt do that and theres a very limited selection unless you wanted to pay 2 bucks for a gamerpic or 2, lameee!

Yeah these things remind me of the Wii and I hate the Wii and base ball cards. Grrrrrrrrrr

Im keeping my avatars there still so many cool ones for me to aquire.
