There’s really nothing for me to say. Ninja Gaiden 2 is after the remake of a remake Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Now in storyline itself is still a prequel but it really makes no difference cause nothing special really happens in the storyline that changes anything. Just Ryu going around and slashing the **** out of enemies.
STORY: 6/10
Theres these demons called Fiends yeah like from Final Fantasy 10. Who ruled humanity a long time ago. But they got sealed away. But there’s this evil Ninja Clan called the BLACK SPIDER CLAN and their main goal is to steal a demon statue that’s in Ryu's village. The Statue gets stolen and it's Ryu’s job as the Dragon Ninja to kill all Black Spider Ninja’s and the fiends and send them back to hell.
DESIGHN: 8/10
If you ever played the first Ninja Gaiden or Devil May Cry then you pretty much know what it is. You just run around and just beat fu*k out of everyone, and collect items to open certain doors and rooms. Each level is different you pretty much go all over the world. From Tokyo to New York, which I was surprised cause I thought it was a fantasy world with made up names for cities, but I was wrong.
You buy items to up your life bar or you can come across them. Another thing you get is something called Ninpo, which is basically your magic, or Ninja Arts I like to call them. You only can get a max of 4 which I though was downer cause your goanna need them if your in the high difficulties. There are all types of Ninpo to; you got fire, wind, void, and firebirds. Yeah there’s two fire types but whatever.
But it's not all good this where the game really makes me want to throw it out the fu*ken window. The camera is fu*ken horrible!!!! Your often be fighting someone but the you cant even see him cause the camera is looking more on the opposite side. And the Boss battle is even worse. Sometimes the camera is ok but most of the time it’s just likes to fu*k with you. I even had friends tell me it was the same damn stupid design. So technically they recycled the first one and just up the graphics.
The other really cool thing I should say is you get a lot of weapons to fight with and you collect them as you progress the game. Some of them are pretty sweet to. You can level each of them up to 3. I would say more about them but I don’t want to ruin it for those who haven’t played it.
I should also say there 4 levels of difficulty.
Acolyte (Easiest)
Warrior (Normal)
Mentor (Fu*king Hard)
Master Ninja (You have no life if you beat it on this level.)
If you never played Ninja Gaiden Id
strongly recommend to play it on Acolyte. I barley beat it on that mode. And if your anything like I am your going to die and die and die. There is literally a part where you fight 4 bosses in a row with no buying items or upgrades or anything. I am dead fu*king serious.
Most Ninja Gaiden fans say that’s how Ninja Gaiden usually is. But hell is 4 bosses in a row enough. Id be ok with 2. Three is bushing it but 4, jesus.
GAMEPLAY: 7.5/10
Besides the weak storyline and the *****y camera. Game play is actually pretty cool. The way it goes is you have two type of attacks. Normal and Lethal Moves. Lethal moves are more powerful but your more vulnerable to attack plus they take longer to follow through. (NOTE: You will see allot of blood, people and monsters getting sliced in half.) The way it works is you use your normal attacks to weaken your enemy, when enemy looses an arm or leg use the lethal attack on him and Ryu will does a reaction by finishing off the guy in really messed up way. It's pretty bloody, but entertaining to watch. The lethal finish off varies depending what weapon or enemy your fighting, pretty crazy. The thing you got to be careful is if you don't finish them off right away. The bad guys will literally do a kamikaze on your ass and take away allot of you life bar away so be careful.
Ninpo pretty much locks on to enemies and kills them on one hit depending on what level there at. Some Ninpo like Void you actually half to aim. You also get a bow and arrow which you will use, and explosive kunai knives which is my personal favorite. And you also get an underwater gun which fu*ken sucks and you find yourself using it like once and you really don't even need it.
Another warning you will need to use the guard button cause you will get wailed on a lot. There’s an actual boss where when you kill him. He blows up and your dead. What a sh*t load of fu*k it took me 8 tries later to find out you half to press guard before he blows up. Who would of thought to do that? Who guards after you beat a boss, honestly!?
Graphics & Sound: 9/10
There’s really nothing much to say. The graphics are pretty much the best out of all the Ninja Gaiden games. I heard nothing wrong with sound at all.
Ryu really doesn't talk that much at all but fans were complaining that he talked too much. What the hell he says like less that 20 lines in the whole game! Frankly I thought his voice sounded a little to young and soft for my taste but he was ok.
The main chick Sonia's voice actress is really good. I like Kari Wahlgren who voices her. Look her up on IMBD she’s' voiced a lot of movies and shows.
If you hate the English then you can change the speech to Japanese but why would I want to read it when I can just sit back and listen.
OVERALL: 6/10
A lot of people were waiting for Team Ninja to release the 2nd Ninja Gaiden. And over all they did a decent job on the game. But that’s not saying much, it still a fu*ken hard, infuriating game! I mean would it kill them to have Ryu say more. He just sits their looks at the person who’s talking to him and then just walks away. I mean what the **** I want to know more about him, but no you get nothing. Not to mention there’s a part where you leave Sonia on a cliff then and then you go off playing when another cut scene shows up she's just there. WTF I assumed she fell of and died!? The game fails to explain certain things that are happening in the story line or what other characters are doing. You pretty much just half to assume what happens to everyone. Not to mention the difficulty and patience it takes to beat this merciless game. I really could of lived without the fighting 4 bosses in row with no back tracking or resting spots to get more items to help me stay alive.
Basically Team Ninja is saying, you got this far now were goanna piss the living sh*t out of you. I mean at least fix the fu*ken awful camera that you just recycled from the first one. But no the camera is fine so deal with it is what there basically saying.
Honestly it's an ok game but not worth 60 dollars if you ask me. Go borrow it from your friend or rent it.
TEAM NINJA stop with the TRIPLE D's Bust for all the women! It's just ridiclous.
