Mass Effect Was Not For Me

Not to offend anyone who liked it but I did not like it.

There was such a huge hype, everyone saying it would be the best RPG or the best game and that you could play it for hours. It was a shame to find that wasn't true (atleast for me). The game had so much talking and not enough... well doing stuff. You were either talking to someone or running around. The combat wasn't much fun either. I mean, I like stories in games and agree that it is important but you could barely do anything before another conversation started.

Yeah lol. That's what an RPG is. It's not about the fighting, its about the story. The hype was well founded because it is possibly the best RPG to date. If you try and review it from the point of view of a shooter game, then of course your not going to like it, and think the hype was unfounded, because they have different aims in mind. It's like reviewing a vacuum cleaner as though it was a kitchen appliance.

Well wait, Mass Effect also claimed to be an "Action RPG". Let me add that I didn't like the story (believe me I wasn't reviewing it from a shooter stand point). It was very boring.

Indeed it was an "Action RPG", most RPGs use a turn base combat system, this was most like a simplified third person shooter. You claim you weren't "reviewing it from a shooter stand point", then what RPGs have you been playing, which make Mass Effect look so rubbish?

As for it being boring, well that's a matter of opinion, obviously, I thought it was anything, but boring. You have to play the game in full to get the full scope of the story, the true nature of the Reapers, what happened to the Protheans, the Cycle, the Precursors...not to mention the in-depth tie-ins on the side quests, such as Cerberus and the like.

My friend let me borrow his Mass Effect, It wasn't my kind of Sci-Fi I like Star Wars and Halo kinda Sci-Fi. I also found myself getting lost all the time.
