Annoyance

Considering that ME has a special section for Downloaded Content, I have to say I'm pretty damn annoyed they aren't spewing out new content. We had to wait ages for Bring Down the Sky and I seriously doubt there will be anything else before ME2.

Now I know they are busy with ME2, but the game is gonna use the same engines etc, there is significantly less to do for this second game, so why the hell isn't the more DC?

I'm not asking for more big packs like BDTS, but I would have expected new armour packs, new weapons packs, maybe extra features for the character creation (new hair-styles etc), or maybe they could have introduced the only weapon featured in game that characters can't use, the rocket launcher! That sort of thing.

IGN: More Mass Effect DLC Possible

I wonder if you also have to factor in how profitable is downloadable content going to be to the company? Mass Effect isn't exactly a Halo 3, people don't continue to play it en mass after they've already completed the campaign. Creating additional content takes just as much time, effort & money as coding for the regular game so maybe BioWare has examined the sales figures of Bringing Down the Sky and thinks that perhaps the effort isn't worth the profit.

I would have loved to see more weapons, abilities, and armors...but like Halo 3, not much added in those terms.

Well, you also have to consider that for almost all games when DLC comes out, its new MULTIPLAYER maps. For ME, it was a new world and mission. I mean, they have to code the world, create the lifeforms, and put everything into place on the world. And those worlds are tiny either. Im betting that if ME 2 has multiplayer, which id be playing the gaem for a long ass time, that they would be putting out more DLC.

Still, considering how much they put into the game it pretty pathetic. I hope ME2 does have multiplayer, I always though ME would make for good online play. Adepts Vs Soilders etc would be pretty good.
