Buying the Guide

Now, I'll start by saying I NEVER buy guides for games.

This one is different. With all there is to do it makes things so much easier. I bought it after my first playthrough so as not to blow any spoilers.

But with things like detailed planet layouts and helpful hints on stuff you would never guess, anyone looking to get 1000/1000 GS should pick this up.

I normally just use gamefaqs how helpful is this really?

Very helpful. The detailed planet surface pictures become invaluable as you track down those resources, and the info is neatly organized.

That is the only place I could see it being usefull

No different than using GameFaqs.

I recommend not using it till your second playthrough. I didn't use it on my first and am glad.

I've got the strategy guide, art of Mass Effect and Mass Effect Revelations. Strategy guide helps on getting all the missions and knowing where crates, minerals and whatnot might lie. Big part is getting all the quests, especially the ones I skipped the first time through.

i've never liked the thought of reading a book to get through a game.

Yeah I waited to go on gamefaqs till the very end of my first playthrough

And I just used it for a map of the citidel
