Weapon Achivments = Bonus?

I was making an Adept the other day (who can only use pistols) and I found that when I had finished making her, I could select a "Bonus Trait" and it let me select the Shotgun.

I thought that this was maybe because I have unlocked the Shotgun Achievement. I made a solider to get the AR and SR achievements to see if I can select them as my bonus traits. I'm hoping that if this works, I might be able to get the Tech and Biotic achivments to unlock them as a bonus trait. I assume you can only select one.

Its just a theory, does anyone know the deal?

When you Unlock certain achievements, you unlock their skill trees for all new characters you make.

Check your menu when you boot the game up to see what bonuses you receive for an achievement.

Thats really cool. I found something else out too, it doesnt all have to be done on the same character, you can do it over several character. I made an adept for the biotic achivments, and I got the medigel achivement just after I found Nilus dead.

That is one of the good things that it is the collective for all your characters. Medigel, hardly ever used it...

Indeed, that Adept was made after my second playthrough with my main, and I had like 3 other alts too.

It works with every character cause they are achievement to your gamertag not the specific character
