Let's Get This Straight

Ok, I would like the newsletter to be running again, but in order for that to happen we need articles by XN members.

So here is my plan:

1. I want to revamp the staff. I want to it to have 2 voice actors who will each to a section on a certain game, and have a seperate section of the staff for staff writers. Also, the two voice actors must write there own part, and it must be gaming related (and actually give information).

2. Texas and I will take over any puppeteering and filming. If we do run into a problem and need any extra people, I will look into the voice actors and the staff writers to volunteer to help.

3. WE NEED ARTICLES. I have decided I do not want the newsletter to be solely machinima, so I will be willing to make a new fancy newsletter. In order for that to work, EVERYONE must try there best to write articles. The new staff writer position should help this out.

4. If anyone has anything they can offer that will help out (like maybe a helping hand at newsletter design) please don't be afraid to help.

I will make a new staff sign-up sheet and roster soon.

I think that until we have a larger members base, we should avoid a machinima-style newsletter in any form. It takes a lot of work, a lot of time, and will it be really worth it for like 6 people? We should focus on getting a simple normal newsletter working first before we jump off into anything more imaginative.

I think that the machinima newsletter is helpful for members who don't post. It is something interesting and different that may keep them interested.

So we have 300 members outside of the few who post. I think that if we can make an interesting and slightly comical machinima newsletter video that goes out in an email to all of these users, it has a good chance to have them at least take a look at the site again to see what cool new stuff is going on.

Plus, it is also interesting for new users to see that a machinima newsletter is being produced.

I see your point, to what extent would the newsletter be machinima? I still think we should be mainly written, a standard newsletter, with a machinima section. Maybe have the characters just give an overview of the newsletter, and the forums, maybe mentioning some XN users by name.

Yeah that was the main idea, have a brief overview of what is going on, and two XN members who can have a section where they can talk about pretty much whatever they want gaming wise.

What articles do we need? I can probably do review typed articles and things if that would be something needed, but i don know what to do exactly

So whats your plan for getting the thing off the ground? Have you made any decisions on the content or form of the newsletter?

I will probably make it using simple html. Mainly looking for articles about games and game systems. Other than that it is pretty much wide open. I will probably also throw in a review and preview each issue.
