Well the game is now officially out just so you all know I'm getting it later in the week probably.
I'm just a bit surprised that there wasn't much of hype over here at the forums.

Ya, I got your XBL message Welsh. It basically plays identically to the first game. Good graphics, same solid controls of the first game. Better storyline, new weapons, few vehicles but really the game plays like a true sequel. Not tons of changes, but some tweaks. It plays like a hybrid between Halo, Rainbow 6 and CoD4. Its fun so far, lots of chainsaw action.

It took the "you get shot, you shake like a wildabeast" thing from cod when your zoomed in with a scoped weapon. I hate that so much.

Well, lets talk about horde. Best thing ever or do you wanna shoot yourself in it??I personally love it. Ive played probably 18 hours since friday of gears 2 and most of it was in horde. The bad thing about it is when you have people in your party who rush in to get as many kills as they can and get killed after killing 3 or 4 guys when your on wave 18 so you, obviouslly, cant beat it yourself unless your using cheats. The campaign is amazing though. For anyone who hasnt played it.got to this part, somewhere in act 3, theyre all completely covered in blood. Youll see why.

Ya, I could do without the constant shaking of the camera, that pisses me off. I'm currently somewhere in Act 5 I think, heading to Jacinto. Flying on a Reaver part. So far, I've found the game to be at a good balance. I'm doing regular Normal mode and so far I haven't found the game excessively challenging but not easy enough to run through (like Halo). I'll have to give Horde a try soon!

Im at the part in the campaign where your in the locust strongehold trying to find where to place the beacon. Im also doing onrmal and it isnt too hard but i have died a few times whether the Dom bot was being an idiot by standing in front of flame boomers or i couldnt figure out where to go/how to get there(razor hail killed me >.<). I think im gonna do it on hard next to get that achievement but i probably wont make it too far.

Has anyone else notice the extreme amount of blood and gore never before seen outside of the Postal game series??I've had to just shut the game off a few times because it got so disgusting after a while.

Yeah especially when you're inside the worm, I think Epic went too far with the gore there.

It wasn't THAT bad. Lots of blood but lots of chain saw fun. Drowning in blood, maybe that was too realistic but at least it gave some decent cut scenes to the level.

They definately went too far with the inside of the worm. I mean, "Come on. We gotta hurry this up so we dont f*cking drown in blood"??Thats a bit far. Pools of blood filling up and then when you cut the arteries, that was just plain disgusting unless your like hardcorehard. But its an otherwise great game. Horde mode can be played for hours and hours. Multiplayer is pretty fun. Wingman sucks though, they should make it only 2 teams of 2 or create another playlist with 2 teams of 2 coz 5 teams is just too much. Still havent beaten the campaign, stuck at the part where you find hte queen and then she leaves and you have to fight that weird guy. Is it possible to dogde the pillar that guy cuts onto you??I swear, the ****ing thing falls and when i run it tracks me so its not possible to get away.
